Australia Day is a day to reflect on and celebrate all the things we love about Australia: our people, the land, diversity, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy and the freedoms we all enjoy.

Australia Day in the City is South Australia's major Australia Day celebration in the heart of Adelaide. More than 42,000 people celebrate our national day together with the Parade, Concert & Fireworks!

The event began with the country's largest Australia Day Parade - the Parade participants a huge number of cultural and community groups. plus floats, roving performers, vintage vehicles, marching bands, a giant echidna and a fly-past by an F-18 Hornet!

After making its way through city streets, the procession converges on Elder Park at 7pm for the twilight Australia Day Concert.

David Campbell and his Big Band - with friends Emma Pask, Mahalia Barnes and Christine Anu headlined the 2017 event!

Past concerts have included Aussie stars Ricki-Lee, Stan Walker, Jessica Mauboy, Kisschasy, Vanessa Amorosi, Carl Risely, Timomatic, Brothers3, Sneaky Sound System, Masketta Fall and Samantha Jade

Following the concert is the spectacular fireworks display - proudly sponsored by Aus Gold Mining!
